panhandle cancer care center

Striving to advance a patient-centered treatment model, Amarillo’s Panhandle Cancer Care Center envisions a healing environment that provides access to daylight, views of nature, and material richness throughout.

Organized into distinct department blocks, the plan offers vistas to the exterior along each circulation path as patients move through their treatment journey.

Like the escarpments of the Llano Estacado on which Amarillo sits, the Cancer Care Center provides relief both from the featureless High Plains landscape, and the challenges of cancer treatment.

A rough-faced masonry exterior gives way to an interior of undulating wood panel ceilings highlighted by clerestory windows that wash the space with natural daylight.
